Talent Scholarship

Focus:  Recruitment of highly skilled and motivated performers in all sections of The Academy.

Awards:  $25,000 in available funds.  Multiple awards given from partial to full scholarships depending on need. Scholarships available to highly motivated, highly skilled performers who can express a financial need.  

Requirements:  Recipients must be eligible for membership with The Academy and pass audition requirements for scholarship award with staff review.  Must be able to demonstrate financial need.

Medina Scholarship

Focus:  Helping the advancement of Hispanic Minority Females in their life endeavors.

Awards:  Multiple awards given each year from partial to full scholarships to Hispanic Females in need of financial support to achieve their goal of marching with The Academy.  

Requirements:  Membership with The Academy.  Hispanic Female.  Must be able to demonstrate financial need.

Alex Blue Scholarship

Focus:  Support for a Low Brass player with a financial need, interested in marching with The Academy.

Award:  $500 scholarship awarded annually.  

Requirements:  Donor requires that recipients must be a low brass player and non-Arizona resident.  Musical audition requirement included

Amanda Marino Stevenson Scholarship

Focus:  Support for a Hispanic Female and their pursuit of participation in The Academy.

Award:  $500 scholarship awarded to a Hispanic Female.  

Requirements: This scholarship is offered to a Hispanic female member, preferably brass. Other members are encouraged to apply in the event no Hispanic female members submit or qualify.

Ben Jones Scholarship

Focus:  Recruitment of highly skilled and motivated mellophone players of The Academy.

Award:  $750 scholarship awarded annually to a mellophone player.  

Requirements: This scholarship is offered to a mellophone player; other members are encouraged to apply in the event no mellophone players submit or qualify.  Requirements include 500-1,000 word essay.

Danny Lozano Scholarship

Focus:  Recruitment of highly skilled and motivated performers in all sections of The Academy.

Award:  $500 scholarship awarded annually any member of The Academy in need of financial aid.  

Requirements: This scholarship recipient needs to demonstrate a financial need and a sincere desire to march with The Academy.

Eric Suedmeyer Scholarship (Awarded for 2024)

Focus:  Support for a low brass veteran member of The Academy (at least 1 year prior Academy membership), preferably a Tuba player.

Award:  $750 scholarship awarded annually to a low brass player of The Academy in need of financial aid.  Other members are encouraged to apply in the event no low brass players submit or qualify.

Requirements:  At least one year prior participation with The Academy.  This scholarship recipient needs to demonstrate a financial need and a sincere desire to march with The Academy.

Veteran Member Scholarships

The Academy is pleased to continue the Veteran Member Scholarship program, which rewards returning members with automatic scholarships for participating with the corps in multiple seasons.  A tiered system based on the number of years marched determines the value of the scholarship.  Scholarship amounts reduce the tuition payments required by the returning members.
