Special Announcement: Academy Board of Directors Issues Birdies Matching Challenge:

We made it – $7,870 was pledged or donated to Birdies for Charity to benefit The Academy!  So, the Board of Directors collectively emptied their wallets and happily matched that with their own $7,500 for a total of $15,370.  Adding the Thunderbirds 10% match…

…we raised an amazing $16,907 for
The Academy!

The Board of Directors would like to sincerely thank everyone who pledged to Birdies for Charity.  We could not continue our great programs without your continued support.  We would also like to thank The Thunderbirds Charities for their bonus 10% gift of $1,537.  This was a big win for The Academy and a great way to start 2016!

Birdies mean bucks for charity

wmpo-logo1You’re invited to be a part of the golf action at the Waste Management Phoenix Open through the tournament’s Birdies for Charity Program.  The program centers around the PGA TOUR professionals making birdies – lots of them – during the 2016 Waste Management Phoenix Open.  You don’t need to be much of a golfer, or even a fan for that matter, to participate in the Birdies for Charity Program.  What’s important is that by participating, you’ll be helping The Academy to reach it’s financial goals and helping the members of its programs realize their dreams.

16th-Hole-640Each year, thanks to the generosity of fans such as yourself, around $5,000 or more is raised on behalf of The Academy.  In addition to your contribution, The Academy will receive a 10% BONUS, courtesy of the Thunderbirds Charities.

We need your help!  Simply pledge one cent or more for every birdie that will be made by the PGA Tour players, throughout the tournament.  It’s that easy.  It is estimated that between 1,300 and 1,800 birdies will be made.  1,500 birdies, for example would make a total pledge of $15.
