The Waste Management and Thunderbird Charities are once again hosting The Phoenix Open and…
BIRDIES FOR CHARITY!
The Academy has participated in this prestigious event for the last decade and this year more than ever, we are excited to be a part of the action as the world’s best golfers take to the spectacular TPC golf courses.
The Academy is set to thrill crowds again in 2017 with another charming production you won’t want to miss. Your support of “Birdies” will help ensure another successful season for The Academy!
This just in – Board of Directors offers to match all donations up to $7,000!
To inspire support for this opportunity, The Academy Board of Directors is opening up their wallets and offering a match of up to $7,000 for all donations coming into the Birdies for Charity campaign. That means for every $1 that is donated, an additional $1.10 will be contributed on your behalf by our Board and the Thunderbirds Charities! Maximize your giving and donate BY FEBRUARY 5!
What is Birdies For Charity?
The Thunderbirds and title sponsor Waste Management have an exciting way for The Academy to cash in on the birdies made during the competitive rounds of the 2017 Waste Management Phoenix Open. Birdies For Charity invites Arizona-based 501C3 organizations like The Academy to involve our community in a pledge drive program based on the total number of birdies made during the 2017 Waste Management Phoenix Open.
Anyone (from anywhere) can fill-out a pledge form and pledge one cent or more per birdie to be a part of the program. No funds will be collected by the participating charities. The Thunderbirds will invoice those who filled out pledge forms following the 2017 Waste Management Phoenix Open and collect all monies. 100% of the collected Birdies For Charity pledges will go directly to The Academy Drum & Bugle Corps (or other charity of your choice). The great news is that The Thunderbirds will match 10% of all donations, making your pledge go even further.
Join in the fun by going to The Birdies for Charity Website and sign up to participate. Choose:
Academy Drum and Bugle Corps
Pledges must be made no later than February 5th!
From the list of charities and that’s it – you’re in the game. Please join in this fun way to support The Academy 2017. Tune in to The Phoenix Open, Thursday, Feb. 2 – Sunday, Feb. 5 and cheer on the golfers to make those BIRDIES!
As of January 23, we’ve received $2,251 towards our $7,000 matching Challenge!
We are 1/3 of the way there!
Birdies mean bucks for charity
You’re invited to be a part of the golf action at the Waste Management Phoenix Open through the tournament’s Birdies for Charity Program. The program centers around the PGA TOUR professionals making birdies – lots of them – during the 2017 Waste Management Phoenix Open. You don’t need to be much of a golfer, or even a fan for that matter, to participate in the Birdies for Charity Program. What’s important is that by participating, you’ll be helping The Academy to reach it’s financial goals and helping the members of its programs realize their dreams.
Each year, thanks to the generosity of fans such as yourself, around $15,000 or more is raised on behalf of The Academy. In addition to your contribution, The Academy will receive a 10% BONUS, courtesy of the Thunderbirds Charities.
We need your help! Simply pledge one cent or more for every birdie that will be made by the PGA Tour players, throughout the tournament. It’s that easy. It is estimated that between 1,300 and 1,800 birdies will be made. 1,500 birdies, for example would make a total pledge of $15.
Our goal this year is to raise $15,000 ($7,000 in pledges/donations, $7,000 board match, and $1,400 Thunderbirds bonus)
Pledges and donations to be submitted at the Birdies for Charity site here, by February 5th.
