Welcome to The Audition Academy. In a world of uncertainty, one thing remains true – that we love what we do, and we just can’t stop. While we can’t yet gather together in one space, we know that there are still ways to stay connected, to grow, and thrive as performers. To that end, we have re-imagined our traditional Fall educational and outreach events. And, we are ready to go.

As a participant in The Audition Academy you will engage with and learn from our staff, discover the techniques employed by The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps, and be offered the opportunity to grow in strength both in physical fitness, and in performance aptitude. You will be training alongside veteran members of The Academy as the staff prepares you for future audition opportunities in the pageantry arts.

The Launch WEBINAR
The Audition Academy began with our Launch Webinar on Saturday, October 17. Open to all, this was the official start for the program, where attendees met the staff, learned what is being planned for each section, and received detailed information on how to get started on their journey. If you missed the webinar, you can view the recording at the link below and get an understanding how The Audition Academy can be your first step to hopping on board for whatever is to come for 2021. New applicants are welcome at any time.
Drum Majors
Those who join us for the Drum Major track will have an intense focus on developing the knowledge and skill sets that are required for the modern drum major. The staff of our Drum Major team, Samuel and Claire Crawford, have been responsible for the developing some of the finest high school, collegiate, and drum corps drum majors through their comprehensive approach to their curriculum. The Academy Drum Major team joins you as they continue to hone their abilities while you prepare for your next drum major position.

Brass players, Drumline, and Front Ensemble instrumentalists will follow unique tracks designed for each of their respective crafts. Our staff will share detailed technique programs, provide instruction on how The Academy approaches their instruments, and give guidance on how to improve over time. In addition, our visual staff has prepared a curriculum that will challenge you to grow in your movement skills that are ever evolving in our activity.

Join our veteran color guard performers as they continue to train with our staff through their specialized technical program. Your progressive work over the 8-week span will allow your proficiency on all pieces of equipment to grow. Technical exercises, and choreographic works will challenge you as the staff works to improve your stamina, focus, vocabulary, and consistency on the things you love to do most in the world.
Color Guard Registrationphysical training program
All participants will be given access to the 8-week physical training program designed to best prepare you for what would typically be a move-in audition camp. This progressive program developed by The Academy’s Exercise Trainer has three tiers to choose from, allowing you to begin at your fitness level, whatever that is right now. Find yourself on the path to your best physical shape by the end of The Audition Academy.
2021 season auditions
Know that while primarily an educational offering to you, The Audition Academy also will be serving as the entry point to membership in The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps for what we hope to be a 2021 season. The staff will be giving you more details on that as you go. The evaluation of your performance throughout this experience will give us most of the information we need to consider you for opportunities to join us on the field, if that is your ultimate goal.
Academy gear
Included in your registration will be a package of merchandise including an exclusive Academy audition shirt, mask, and more. During registration, you will have an opportunity to purchase discounted gear from across our entire merchandise line, all to be immediately shipped directly to you.
Virtual Camp Weekend
The Audition Academy concludes with a virtual camp weekend to be held on December 12-13 and a final webinar to close the experience for all. Final sessions, videos, and virtual events will be scheduled. Details TBA.

Tuition covers all materials, staffing, virtual meetings, camps, physical training program, merchandise and shipping.

Private lesson add-ons
As an additional opportunity, musicians will be offered private lesson packages taught by The Academy staff. Single lessons, a package of 3, or a package of 5 lessons are all available upon registering.
