The Academy is excited to offer this great program for our 21st year of activity. This program is designed for elementary & middle school students, ages 5-14. This activity is a great way to prepare students for high school guard programs or marching bands by introducing such elements as marching & drill. In addition, students will learn basic color guard skills & how to perform them!
The Academy Winter Youth Guard (AWYG) program begins this year in January and continues to the end of March. We plan to participate in the WGAZ circuit events with one performing team.
Membership fees will be $325 and will cover the 2026 costume, show shirt, educational team instruction, and equipment rental.
Season Schedule
First meeting/Open House/Equipment Check Out/Practice will be held Sunday, January 3, 2026. Please note that this will be a full rehearsal that will span the entire schedule time. All rehearsal etiquette, safety protocols, and parent information can be gathered on this day. This meeting is a MANDATORY and one parent/guardian must be at the meeting. Thanks so much!
Rehearsal schedule: Sundays, from 12:30 pm – 3:00 pm (Jan 3 – Mar 22)
Location: Summit Academy, 1560 W. Summit Place, Chandler, AZ 85224[Elementary School Gym]

- Sat, February 14 – Corona del Sol HS Show (Tempe, AZ)
- Fri, March 6 – WGAZ Guard Premier Show at Desert Vista HS (Phoenix, AZ)
- Sat, March 14 – Mesquite HS Show (Gilbert, AZ)
- Sat, March 28 – WGAZ Guard Championships at Millennium HS (Goodyear, AZ)
